Who we are

What we collect, why, and our lawful basis

  • Contact form — your name, email and message, used only to respond to your enquiry. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request before a contract, and our legitimate interest in replying.
  • Website analytics — we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the site is used, and only with your consent. If you opt in to session recording, anything you type into forms is masked. Lawful basis: your consent.

Cookies

We use an essential cookie to remember your cookie preference (no consent needed). Analytics and session-recording cookies are set only if you consent — nothing non-essential is loaded until you choose, and nothing is set if you decline. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:

Who we share data with

We use processors to run the site — Cloudflare (network security and content delivery for every request), PostHog (analytics), Ahrefs Web Analytics (cookieless page-view counting), Google Fonts (typeface delivery), EmailJS (contact-form delivery), Mux (video hosting and delivery for the homepage showreel and project walkthroughs) and Supabase (hosted database that stores the portfolio, blog and image metadata you browse) — under contracts that require them to protect your data. Each of them receives your IP address as a technical necessity of serving the page, its fonts, video or portfolio images to your browser. Where a provider processes personal data outside the UK/EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry, provide any related services, or meet our legal obligations. Analytics data is retained by PostHog only for as long as we need it to understand how the site is used.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these, email info@andrewcatto.co.uk. We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
